School Staff

Our School Staff:

Terri Kober - Director of Youth, Family & School Ministry

Terri has served as the Director of Youth and Family Ministry since the position was instituted at Trinity in July of 2001. In May of 2014 our school ministry was incorporated into her family ministry role. It is her joy and tremendous blessing to have the opportunity to serve God by serving families. She is gifted in the area of “gab” but is a dedicated listener as well! When she is not working you will likely catch her reading a great book, cooking, or playing a game with someone!

Tressa Hollinger - Office Manager

Tressa grew up a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and joined the Trinity staff in April 2012.  She and her husband Gy have three girls who all attend school at Trinity!  Tressa is a jack of all trades, providing office support for both the church and school.  When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family along with scrap booking and reading.

Jackie Rasch - Preschool Director/Teacher

Jackie Rasch (Miss Jackie) joined the teaching staff at Trinity Lutheran School as the Preschool Teacher & Director in the fall of 2016. She holds a BA in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. Miss Jackie is an experienced teacher, having taught preschool for 16 years in addition to her elementary teaching experience. Prior to joining the teaching team at Trinity, Miss Jackie grew up, and still lives, on the family apple farm in Conklin. It is on the farm among her 13 siblings that Jackie’s larger than life dad, Bill Rasch (1924-2004), and quiet, kind-hearted mom, Rosemary, fostered her love for young children. Although Jackie never married, nor gave birth to children of her own, she regards each of her students as 'one of her own', as she loves and nurtures them. She looks forward to many years of "building faith and serving people" through the school ministry at Trinity!

Stephanie Schumaker - K/1st Grade Teacher

Mrs. Schumaker attended Concordia University-Ann Arbor to obtain a degree in Elementary Education, with a major in Language Arts and a Lutheran Teacher Diploma. With Christ at the center, she aims to shine the Lord’s light and love in the classroom while serving and teaching the whole child. She looks forward to joyfully, compassionately, and diligently partnering with parents to care for and equip children, all the while magnifying Christ. Mrs. Schumaker is delighted to be involved in the school ministry at Trinity.

Stephany Bates - 2nd/3rd Grade Teacher

Mrs. Bates earned her teaching degree from Grand Valley State University after completing her Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies. She is passionate about unleashing student potential through engaging lessons that celebrate Christ’s love and the grace of God. She actively partners with parents to ensure that all her students grow both spiritually and academically in a Christian learning environment. Mrs. Bates is thrilled to continue Trinity Lutheran School’s mission of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ruth Mackie 4th/5th Lead Teacher

Psalm 73:23-26:
“Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Mrs. Ruth Mackie was born on September 29, 1957 in Highland Park, Michigan. She is a product of Lutheran day schools, high school, and colleges, graduating with an A.A. degree from Concordia, Ann Arbor in 1976 and a B.S. Ed. from Concordia, Seward in 1978. Ruth completed coursework for a Director of Christian Education (DCE) colloquy through Concordia, St. Paul in 2007, and is dually certified within the LCMS as a teacher and DCE.
Ruth has served congregations in Missouri, Ohio, and Minnesota as a church musician, teacher, and DCE. She is a published composer through Concordia Publishing House and is currently composing for CPH’s new LSB Hymn Prelude Series. She has served the International Lutheran Laymen’s League as its convention organist and twice served the Minnesota South District as its convention organist. Her greatest passion, however, is teaching, and she is thrilled to be joining the faculty at Trinity.
Ruth has been married to Roger since 1981. He is an ordained minister in the LCMS and a credentialed Intentional Interim Minister, currently serving another Trinity, Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, Missouri. Ruth and Roger are blessed with four sons, Paul, Robert, Timothy, and Benjamin; a daughter-in-law, Megan; and two grandchildren, Byron and Alaina.
When she is not at work, Ruth loves to bake, do counted cross-stitch, and root for the Tigers (and Twins), Lions, Pistons, Red Wings, and Wolverines.
